Sam Hodges

Sam Hodges co-founded Funding Circle, where he serves as U.S. Managing Director. Additionally, Sam is a Board Member of WorkingPoint (where he previously served as interim CEO) and ClinMet, which he co-founded. Previously, he was VP of Business Development for SecondMarket, the largest alternative investments marketplace. Earlier in his career, Sam held a variety of investing roles, including ones at Pequot Capital, FirstMark Capital, and Bertelsmann Asia Investments (during which time he was based in Beijing). He started his career as a strategy consultant at Katzenbach Partners. Sam received his MBA and MS from Stanford University and graduated magna cum laude from Brown University.

Personal: Sam captained the rugby team at both Brown and Stanford and is the only Partner likely to survive a Shackletonian expedition as a skilled outdoorsman, mountaineer, and sailor.  But don’t let that fool you; growing up in Eugene and Santa Barbara, he is also the sommelier and chef of the team. His two most annoying traits are that he cheers for the Oregon Ducks and that he has more flow than the rest of the team combined.
